PairSong

Privacy

What PairSong stores, in plain words.

The short version

When you paste a link

The link is sent to PairSong’s server, which asks Apple (iTunes Search and Lookup) and Spotify (its official web API) to find the song. Those requests come from PairSong’s server, not from your device. The result is cached for up to seven days under the song’s own ID so repeat lookups are quick. The cache holds the title, artist and links of the song. The pasted text itself is not saved by PairSong.

Rate limits

To stop abuse, PairSong counts requests per connection in a database table. The key is a salted one-way hash of your IP address, never the address itself, with a counter and a time window. Old counters are deleted automatically, within about two days.

On your device

Your browser’s local storage keeps your last few songs so you can resend them. It stays on your device. Clearing site data removes it.

Hosting

PairSong runs on Cloudflare Workers, with a Neon Postgres database. Like any web host, they receive your IP address and request details to deliver the page, and may keep standard server logs. PairSong does not control that data. When you tap an Apple Music or Spotify link, you go to that service, which has its own privacy policy.
